There is not one big cosmic meaning for all, there is only the meaning we each give to our life, an individual meaning, an individual plot, like an individual novel, a book for each person. ~Anaïs Nin

Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in the Atwater Village/Silverlake area of Los Angeles helping people identify creative solutions in order to move toward more fulfilled Selves and relationships. I work with individuals, couples (both through marital and pre-marital counseling), families, and groups. I have been studying and practicing creative approaches to psychotherapy since 1997 and have been licensed since 2004. I focus on the art of psychotherapy through humanistic, existential approaches and have incorporated the use of art therapy as a specialty.
Through my years of experience working with clients I have found my most strongly held belief to be that a person deserves to be deeply heard and respected. When a person feels authentically listened to and understood then the work of sorting out present difficulties as well as illuminating past unmet needs can take place and movement toward healing occurs. It is my honor to get to do this work every day!
Furthermore, I believe that therapy is a time set aside just for you. It is not a time to judge you or to tell you how you ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’ live your life. It is also not a time for professional lectures. You have as much time to talk or not to talk, as you need, combined with the right amount of encouragement and exploration through my experience and training. You will not be looked down upon, diminished, or minimized. I will listen to you with full attention and help support you. It can be awe-inspiring to finally hear your thoughts, process your feelings, and begin to realize your potential Self.
This blog represents a new chapter in my experience and I look forward to exploring more of my thoughts and feelings here as well as having the opportunity to connect with others along the way.
